Facebook And YouTube Banned in Kashmir

The protest against Anti-Islam videos on popular social media sites is now reached on an interesting  point. The Jammu & Kashmir state government has asked Internet Service Providers to block the access to Popular Social Media sites FaceBook and Youtube. And on the immediate action, Internet users in Kashmir are unable to access popular social media sites FaceBook and YouTube.

Facebook YouTube banned in Kashmir
In late September, the Internet service providers were asked to block the offensive contents and Anti-Islam videos that were shared on YouTube and FaceBook. But now it is learnt that the entire site access has been restricted.

The move has been taken under Section 5(2) of the Indian Telegraph Act 1985. The report in Greater Kashmir newspaper also confirmed banned on FaceBook and YouTube.

However, there are some conflict statements from Service Providers and State govt. Aga Ruhullah has denied any state intervention on this act. Aga Ruhullah is a State Minister for Information and Technology. On the other hand the General Manager of Reliance (J&K) said service providers received orders from state govt to block entire site access.
