Facebook crossed 1 Billion users and Counting...


The very popular social networking site Facebook has crossed 1 billion of active users and the counter is goes on increasing.

Founder and CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg confirmed on the web site that popular and world’s biggest social network site has already crossed the 1 billion users on 14th September.

If we believe in statistics, then every 7th person in the world is actually active Facebook user. According to Facebook India, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico and US are the biggest markets for Facebook. The California based Facebook, is actively used in almost 200 countries. 600 million user logs into the Facebook through their mobile devices daily.

Facebook which was founded in 2004, had crossed 50 Crore users mark in 6 years of time span. And now within the next 2 years it has crossed almost double the active users mark.

In an interview Mark Zuckerberg admitted “To help to connect 1 billion users each other is a great experience. Thank You for giving me and my little team the honor of serving you.” 

Facebook And YouTube Banned in Kashmir


The protest against Anti-Islam videos on popular social media sites is now reached on an interesting  point. The Jammu & Kashmir state government has asked Internet Service Providers to block the access to Popular Social Media sites FaceBook and Youtube. And on the immediate action, Internet users in Kashmir are unable to access popular social media sites FaceBook and YouTube.

In late September, the Internet service providers were asked to block the offensive contents and Anti-Islam videos that were shared on YouTube and FaceBook. But now it is learnt that the entire site access has been restricted.

The move has been taken under Section 5(2) of the Indian Telegraph Act 1985. The report in Greater Kashmir newspaper also confirmed banned on FaceBook and YouTube.

However, there are some conflict statements from Service Providers and State govt. Aga Ruhullah has denied any state intervention on this act. Aga Ruhullah is a State Minister for Information and Technology. On the other hand the General Manager of Reliance (J&K) said service providers received orders from state govt to block entire site access.
